What Heaven Really Is

Most people think of heaven as some far-off place where we go after we die. But that's not the whole picture. Heaven is actually YHWH's home. It's His kingdom where He lives and rules. It's the place where His will happens perfectly and where all His plans come together.

The Big Mix-Up About Heaven

For a long time, many Christians have thought the goal was to escape this world and float away to heaven. They picture leaving earth behind and going somewhere completely different. But here's what's amazing - that was never YHWH's plan at all.

YHWH's real plan is much better. He wants heaven and earth to become one place again, just like it was at the very beginning in the Garden of Eden.

What the Prophets Said

The old prophets in the Bible talked about a special day coming. They said it wouldn't be about people leaving earth for heaven. Instead, they said heaven and earth would be made new together. Both places would be refreshed and joined as one.

The prophet Isaiah wrote about YHWH's promise: "For look, I am ready to create new heavens and a new earth! The former ones will not be remembered; no one will think about them anymore." (Isaiah 65:17). Isaiah also said, "As the new heavens and the new earth that I make will endure before me, so will your name and descendants endure" (Isaiah 66:22).

When Jesus (YHWShA) came, He showed us what this looks like. He brought heaven's power right here to earth. He healed sick people, fed hungry crowds, and brought peace to troubled hearts. This was heaven breaking through into our world.

The Prayer That Shows YHWH's Plan

Remember when YHWShA taught people how to pray? He said to ask for "Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:10). This wasn't just a nice idea or wishful thinking. YHWShA was showing us YHWH's actual plan.

He was saying that YHWH's kingdom - heaven itself - was already starting to come down to earth. The prayer wasn't about going somewhere else. It was about YHWH's perfect way of doing things coming right here.

The Vision of the Future

The apostle John had an amazing vision that shows us the end of the story. He saw the New Jerusalem - YHWH's perfect city - coming down from heaven to earth. John wrote: "I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from YHWH, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband" (Revelation 21:2).

Notice that people weren't going up to heaven. Heaven was coming down to people. John also saw "a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away" (Revelation 21:1).

This tells us that YHWH's final plan isn't to take us away from this world. His plan is to bring His perfect world here.

YHWShA Shows Us the Way

When YHWShA rose from the dead and went to be with His Father, something important happened. The Bible tells us that "he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight" (Acts 1:9). He didn't just disappear like a ghost. He went up in His real, physical body.

This shows us that heaven is a real place, just as real as earth is now. One day, YHWShA will come back, and heaven and earth will be completely joined together.

Heaven Is Already Here

Here's some great news: you don't have to wait until you die to experience YHWH's kingdom. Heaven is already breaking through right now. It's growing and moving and changing people's hearts every day.

When someone finds peace with YHWH, that's heaven touching earth. When people love each other the way YHWShA taught, that's YHWH's kingdom showing up. When justice happens and wrongs are made right, that's heaven's way coming to our world.

What This Means for You

This changes everything about how we think about life. We're not just waiting around to escape to somewhere else. We're part of YHWH's plan to bring heaven to earth.

Every act of love, every moment of forgiveness, every time we help someone in need - we're helping YHWH's kingdom come to our world. We're living the prayer YHWShA taught us.

The Final Picture

One day, YHWH will finish what He started. Heaven and earth will be completely joined as one perfect place. There will be no more separation between YHWH's world and our world. Everything will be made new, and it will all be exactly as YHWH always wanted it to be.

Until that day comes, we get to be part of the amazing work of bringing heaven to earth. We don't have to wait to step into YHWH's kingdom - we can live in it right now.

This changes how we see everything. We're not trying to escape this world, we're helping transform it into the beautiful place YHWH always meant it to be.
